Two PC technicians and a horde of their geek friends go to a local gaming/sci-fi convention every year. They all wear viking helmets, sing songs, play guitar, and bring general merriment to the other con-goers each and every year as The Singing Vikings. This year, the two nerds had a plan. A plan they would not reveal the results of till Friday night, September 30th. They sweated blood and tears to finish their idea over the course of two nights before the con (seriously, man, have you ever had a cardboard-cut?!) and the results were groovy.

There was much robot dancing on the dance floor, deadly combat in the hospitality room, and drinking of unidentified alcoholic beverages through straws. They won Best Original Costume in the Hall Costume Contest and resolved to make even better costumes next year.

What: Motherboard Box Armor, Bad 60s Movie Robots, Two Guys With Way Too Little Time On Their Hands (And Seriously Warped Priorities).
Materials: Over a hundred motherboard, video card, and power supply boxes, and countless zip ties.
Time: About 4 hours per costume, over the course of 2 nights.
Mission: To be the geekiest nerds and/or nerdiest geeks at Archon, a 4,000 strong attendee gaming & sci-fi convention.
The Result: Pure and unfathomable success.
